Courtney THOMSON

Shire of Tammin

Councillor

THOMSON, Courtney is eligible to stand for election as a resident of the Shire of Tammin.

Having enjoyed the past four years on Council, I am nominating again to continue representing our community. It has been a unique experience that has allowed me to learn, grow, and contribute to projects and decisions that shape the future of Tammin. I thrive on helping people and, in my role as Coordinator of the Cunderdin Community Resource Centre, | work closely with local groups, schools, and residents in the wider region to deliver programs and events that bring people together. While my work is based in our neighbouring town, my focus remains firmly on Tammin, where I live and proudly represent the community I call home. I am passionate about ensuring Tammin remains a vibrant, welcoming, and sustainable place to live. I will continue to listen, advocate, and work hard to represent the voices of residents while supporting initiatives that build a positive future for our town.

Ashley MACKIN

Shire of Tammin

Councillor

Ordinary

MACKIN, Ashley is eligible to stand for election as a resident of the Shire of Tammin.

My name is Ashley Mackin and am seeking election for the 2025 Tammin

Council. Having grown up in the area on a family farm near Yorkrakine Rock, my involvement in the community has been from an early age.

I have been involved in many facets of the community having served on various committees in my life with involvement at the Bowling Club, Golf Club, football club and cricket club to name a few. These committees have allowed me an insight into the facility management and needs of the town through involvement with many community members. As well as being involved in the local Bush Fire brigade as a Volunteer and Fire Control Officer.

As a councillor my aim is to continue to help provide facilities for the clubs and organisations of the town, as I firmly believe these are truly the backbone of the community. Being a small shire I really believe the organisations in the town have always punched above their weight, not only on the field but off aswell. My attention also is drawn to the declining population within the community. Whilst this is complex and not easy to fix, I think we can foster an environment for existing and prospective businesses to expand and thrive within our shire. One of the ways I think we could do this is by establishing an industrial area or potentially utilising unused blocks in town and giving businesses incentive to do trade here, with shire support.  I also think that attention can be turned to utilising resources where possible to improve the state of our roads used for the transport of grain and general usage, which are declining and causing an unsafe environment in some cases. Whilst being wary of budget constraints, I think we can achieve this with a collaborative approach between council and ratepayers.  I think a openminded approach to pushing a community forward is key to success. I would like to think as a councillor I will be approachable and collaborative with others in the shire environment, as well as community members. As a member of the community for my entire life I would like to think I'm the perfect fit for the council and actively work to improve and preserve this Shire to ensure the community pushes forward into the future.

CAFFELL, Nicholas is eligible to stand for election as a resident of the Shire of Tammin.

I am honoured to renominate for the Tammin Shire Council. I have been running a successful farm in South Tammin for many years. Alongside my wife, Narelle, we have raised our three children here. Our family is deeply involved in local events and community activities, and we take pride in contributing to the spirit of Tammin. I am passionate about local sports and believe in their power to unite communities. I have supported and participated in local football, cricket, and hockey clubs, and I advocate for improved sporting facilities to benefit everyone. I understand the importance of reliable roads and infrastructure. I have been a vocal advocate for improving Tammin's Road network and securing funding for critical projects that will enhance our community's quality of life. I am proud to represent the best of Tammin: hardworking, community-focused, and forward-thinking. My vision for the future is ambitious yet grounded. I urge the council and community to support my nomination for the Tammin Shire Council.
