Spraying on Road Verges Outside Property Boundaries

22-Jun-2005

Shire of Tammin

PUBLIC NOTICE

SPRAYING OF ROAD VERGE AREAS OUTSIDE PROPERTY BOUNDARIES

Landowners within the rural areas of the Shire are encouraged to be careful when

undertaking Chemical Spraying activities near the boundaries of their properties. Recent

changes to legislation are interpreted that landowners can maintain the “outside area” of their

property boundaries to protect fencelines and property asset within an acceptable

“maintenance zone” of one (1) metre.

Given the fantastic start to the season, added fuel and sight distance hazards will develop

and the control of these defined areas by landowners will assist maintenance of property

boundaries, nearby intersections as applicable and related safety zone areas.

All Rural Landowners are encouraged to assist in the definition of safe areas for the benefit of

the District, early Fire Safety measures and for the benefit of General Road Network Users,

this is very much appreciated.
